- Small grape dictionary-

Germany is the country of the white wines. About 88 % of the wine region is occupied with white grapes, only 12 % of the grapes are red. The world average is the other way around.

- Our white grapes-

Riesling :

Undoubtedly he is the finest and most famous wine of the world.

His berries are small nearly insignificant. They mature quite late until November sometimes until December.

Riesling wines have a superior prickly and flowery taste. The acid is fresh and fruity.

No other wine country delivers wines who are comparable with the German Riesling.

Müller-Thurgau:

This crossing between Riesling and Silvaner is the cultivation as one presumes of the Swiss H. Müller of Thurgau.


The berries mature early about September. The vine is the most spread in Germany.


The wines of Müller-Thurgau are well balanced and perfumed. Their strong bouquet has a characteristic muscaty and walnut tone.

Although Germany has very few red wine grapes they are of very good quality who are sought after and well treasured by connoisseurs.

Spätburgunder:

He is the finest redwine grape.


The little small berries mature late like the Riesling.


Originally from Burgundy this grape has developed it´s own character in Germany.


Spätburgunder red wines are velvety, full bodied, fiery and reminds one of almonds.
