St Valentine's Church in Kiedrich (Basilica Minor)

An almost completely preserved interior decoration with Gothic art treasures dating back to 1500 as well as Germany’s oldest still functional organ (around 1330) with almost 1.000 pipes can be admired in the Church of St Valentine in Kiedrich, a must see for Rheingau visitors interested in art.
A unique musical treat is Kiedrich’s choir of boys and men (“Kiedricher Chorbuben”) who perform liturgical Latin Gregorian plainsongs in a special Germanic dialect each Sunday in this way maintaining the tradition that dates back to the year 1333.

St Valentine’s Church was declared a Basilica Minor in 2010.
