A remarkable piece of art is the biggest Gothic carved altar of Germany in the parish church of St Martin (Pfarrkirche St. Martin) in Lorch (1483) from the workshop of the master builder Hans von Worms. The parish church can be visited from Easter to end of October Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In the art and local history museum unique, exceptional, old artifacts like the head of the beheaded John the Baptist carved in wood from the 12th century, the enthroned Mother of God with the Infant Jesus and a bunch of grapes from the early 14th century, as well as valuable carvings, documents, figures and sacral objects can be admired. The museum is open from 1 April to 31 October, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
