Schwarzenstein Castle is surrounded by the vineyards of Geisenheims Johannisberg district and is located in the midst of a Mediterranean park. Today, it houses a hotel as well as a gourmet restaurant. Schwarzenstein Castle was erected by the Mumm family in 1854.
In 1957 Rudolf August Oetker took over the Mumm wine-growing estate together with its castle and the associated vineyard located within the vineyard site Schwarzenstein.
Since 2004 Schwarzenstein Castle has belonged to a family foundation and has since been renovated and turned into an exclusive hotel offering a choice of 10 rooms and, as of 2006, a gourmet restaurant serving award-winning cuisine. Enjoy your meal and a breath-taking view of the Rhine Valley among the vines on the Castles terrace.
In 2010 the new hotel Parkresidenz will open its doors to the public.
