Mainturm

The Main Tower is the oldest preserved structure in the town of Flörsheim am Main. It was built around the middle of the 16th century. This early modern fortification served to protect the riverbank and control shipping traffic even before the Thirty Years' War. It was constructed following an earlier fortified settlement, the origins of which date back to the first third of the 14th century.
The Main Tower was used for defensive purposes, as a bastion for collecting duties, and for protection during ice drift and floods.

The KUNSTFORUM MAINTURM is a place for ideal exchange and dialogue. Across a total of four floors, the building offers space for cultural events and encounters between artists and art enthusiasts.
