Hiking

Romance, vineyards, wine and gorgeous panoramas: The Rheingau is one of the best places in the world to take a walk, whether you plan to simply enjoy a relaxed stroll or hike for several days. There are over 80 sign-posted paths for you to follow to your heart’s content. Does Flötenweg (flute path) remind you of music? Llamas and alpacas of the Andes? Can you imagine finding Queen Victoria in the middle of our riverscape featuring beautiful forests and vineyards?

Welcome to WIESBADEN RHEINGAU, a hiking paradise!

Established classics and first-rate hikes such as the Rheinsteig, which runs for 80km through the Rheingau, the varied landscape of the ‘Rheingauer Klostersteig’, Rheingau’s very own Camino de Santiago, and newly developed routes such as the Wispertrail, which you could be one of the first to discover, invite walkers of all abilities to get outside and get active.

Discover idyllic vineyards, the 14 riesling circular trails or the exciting, educational walks along the #RheingauGeflüster:  every station along this route tells a variety of stories, showing its character and providing a surprising variety of audio clips, educational information, pictures and videos, which you can access easily with your smartphone.

Whichever way you choose to walk, we encourage you to discover our beautiful home at your own pace. Perhaps you only have a few hours, or plan to spend days hiking — either way, walking through the Rheingau will help you explore new paths and new perspectives.
