Education and Sustainability in One Hand

The Nature Conservation House Weilbacher Kiesgruben, Environmental Center of the vhs Main-Taunus-Kreis, is committed to environmental education, climate protection, sustainability, and responsible handling of nature and landscape.
In addition to environmental education events for school classes and children's groups, the Nature Conservation House offers a comprehensive program for everyone: family activities, workshops, excursions, holiday programs for children, action days, and much more. The current event program can be found here: www.vhs-mtk.de/naturschutzhaus/unser-programm
There is also much to discover for spontaneous visitors. The Nature Conservation House features the interactive exhibition "Nature Under the Microscope - Experience, Research, Know," which offers new perspectives on nature, landscape, and sustainability. Outside, the nature-friendly designed garden area with a cottage garden and structurally rich biotopes invites exploration in every season. Additionally, the open-air exhibition "Colorful Garden Diversity" provides information on insect-friendly and climate-adapted gardens.
In direct proximity is the visitor center of the Regional Park RheinMain, where guests can learn about the region and excursion options. On-site activities include the Regional Park Tower, a playground with climbing rocks, a barefoot path, and walking trails. The inn "Zum Wilden Esel" invites visitors to rest with regional cuisine.
