The Rosengarten in the Electoral Castle of Eltville am Rhein was established in 1979. It is home to numerous different rose varieties, from historical roses and climbing roses up to 10 meters high, to Japanese roses. The roses are located around the castle complex as well as along the Rhine promenade, including some rare rose varieties.
Since 1988, Eltville am Rhein has been recognized as a Rose City by the Association of German Rose Friends.
Every year in early June, the city invites you to the event "Rosentage" in Eltville am Rhein. At this time, the roses bloom in full splendor.

Opening hours of the outdoor area with free admission (courtyard, rose garden, and kennel):

April 1 to mid/end of October daily from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Mid/end of October to March 31 daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Exception: On December 31, the outdoor area remains closed.

Opening hours of the museum in the castle tower and tourist information:

April 1 to October 31 daily from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last entry to the castle tower 4:30 p.m.)

November 1 to March 31 daily from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (last entry to the castle tower 3:00 p.m.)
