The largest of the 15 ‘Erstes Gewächs’ (first growth) sites of Wegeler Vineyards were denoted as first class ‘Grand Cru’ on the oldest site classification map of the world as far back as 1867. The historic estate house is accordingly stocked with the most sophisticated VDP and Charta wines to be had: award-winning, well-matured Rieslings (late release), wines and sparkling wines served at state receptions, including Geheimrat "J" and the legendary Mosel Riesling Bernkasteler Doctor, and the finest Pinot Noir from the excellent partner vineyard Krone Assmannshausen.
