Weingut Johannes Ohlig

The Johannes Ohlig winery is located in the historic Zehntenhof, built in 1591, in the district of Winkel.

Previously, it served as a place where the local population had to pay their taxes in kind to the Archdiocese of Mainz, but for over a hundred years, it has been home to the Ohlig family.

Due to the high storage volumes of these taxes, the Zehntenhof features old vaulted cellars on three levels, providing optimal expansion possibilities for the Johannes Ohlig winery. Starting with a large portion of wine trade, the main operation increasingly shifted towards direct marketing at the winery. The share of private customers amounts to about 75%, with 25% going to trade and gastronomy.

Today, the Johannes Ohlig winery manages around 20 hectares.
