A day on and above the Moselle
Are you looking for a special day program during your vacation? Then this day package is definitely the right choice for you! The trip by boat down the Moselle River to the former Cistercian convent of Machern starts at the Moselle bank in the district of Bernkastel.
After nearly 40 minutes, passing the famous steep slopes of the Middle Moselle, the district of Wehlen, and the lock passage at the wine village of Zeltingen, the boat docks at the jetty of Kloster Machern. Here, in a magnificent complex from the 13th century, a beer brewing menu awaits you! At Kloster Machern, beer is still brewed on-site, with 3 varieties available for tasting. Additionally, the visit to the Toy and Icon Museum located on the grounds of Kloster Machern is included in the program.
Once back in the "International City of Vines and Wine" - Bernkastel-Kues - you will start your journey with the Burg-Landshut-Express to the ruins of Landshut Castle. The drive through the vineyards on the yellow bus to the castle, which towers high above the old town, takes about 20 minutes. Upon arrival at the top, you will be rewarded with an outstanding view of the Moselle's cultural landscape.
