From the pheasantry, we hike past a small garden colony towards the ice house. At the ice house with its fish ponds, we reach the Christian-Kraus-Weg. It is marked with a red cross. The path steadily ascends along the Gehrner Bach. On the left side of the path is the golf course at the Chausseehaus, and we come to the railway underpass of the Nassauische Touristikbahn (NTB), under which we pass through. We continue straight ahead on a path marked with a blue dot. Soon, we reach the shelter of the Priessnitz-Kneipp Association with a water treading facility. The facility is supplied with fresh spring water from the Gehrner Bach. After a possible cooling (Kneipp application), we proceed towards the Chausseehaus along a path marked with a black dot. At the Chausseehaus, we cross the country road L 3037 next to the NTB tracks and see the former Chausseehaus station, a stop of the NTB. At the Chausseehaus restaurant, we reach the Rheingauer Pfad marked with a black dot. We follow the Rheingauer Pfad to the Alte Rheingauer Straße, which crosses the Rheingauer Pfad. On the Alte Rheingauer Straße (marking: black dot), we pass through the upper Weilburg valley and, as the path continues, into the Lippbach valley. In the Lippbach valley, we turn slightly downhill towards Frauenstein. At a crossing of the Lippbach, by a dammed fish pond, we change sides of the valley and continue left into the brook valley. This section of the path is only marked with the Naturfreunde symbol. In the lower brook valley, we reach the Lippbach wetland, which is designated as a landscape conservation area.

Afterwards, we arrive at the playground and sports field and the Alfred Delp School in Frauenstein. We go beside the parking lot up a footpath and reach the Kirschblütenstraße, which we cross at the traffic light. Those who want to get to know Frauenstein, the 'Grinzing' of Wiesbaden, better are recommended to go down to the town center to see the castle ruins, the old linden tree with the Gothic church, and the beautiful half-timbered houses. Of course, this detour also includes a tasting of the excellent Frauenstein wines from the Großlage Steinmächer and the vineyards Herrnberg, Marschall, and Homberg. From Kirschblütenstraße, the hiking trail leads to Zum Goethestein street (marking: black dot) and then continues as a field path above Frauenstein through orchards. From here, there is a beautiful view of the Hohe Wurzel, 610 m above sea level, with the telecommunications tower. The path continues around a quartz rock, steeply up to the 'Spitzen Stein,' 254 m above sea level. There stands, somewhat hidden in the forest, a wooden observation tower. Not far from there we come to the 'Goethestein,' a quartzite pyramid that commemorates the visit of the prince of poets on July 6, 1815. The pyramid was erected in Goethe’s death year, 1832. It shows Goethe's head, and a bronze plaque indicates that Goethe praised the beautiful view from here and, as a geologist, examined the quartzite for copper and iron traces. A little off the hiking trail, a detour to the 'Nürnberger Hof,' a courtyard established in the 14th century in an exposed location with a restaurant and a wonderful view of the Rhine valley, is worthwhile. We cross the street Zum Nürnberger Hof and hike downhill through the vineyards to the second crossroads. There, we turn left and continue on the Rheingauer Riesling Path. Our next destination is the 'Apfelweinstube Zum Himmelreich,' which we see ahead on a hill. At a crossroads, we reach the Erlenbach valley and leave the Riesling Path. We go up the steep path opposite, until after about 100 m a path coming from the right joins in. Along this steep path by the 'Homberg' vineyard location, we come to Himmelreich. We then hike to the left and immediately right again on a wide path. After about 200 m, we leave the path and go left towards Schloss Freudenberg. Here we reach the southern entrance to the castle and go through the park, bypass the castle, and arrive at the castle entrance on Freudenbergstraße. Here ends the 5th stage, and opposite is the destination of the entire circular route around the state capital Wiesbaden, the Naturfreundehaus of the NaturFreunde in Wiesbaden, the Heidehäuschen.
