Exhibition "towards each other" Paintings by Daniela Schulz

The Mediathek Eltville will show the exhibition "towards each other" Paintings by Daniela Schulz from Friday, September 4 to Saturday, October 17. The exhibition can be visited during opening hours in the Mediathek.

The opening reception will take place on Friday, September 4, at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

How do color settings communicate in space? What connects them and what separates them from one another? Where is the pictorial interior located, and where is the boundary to the exterior?

The works of Daniela Schulz show colorful realities in which subtle as well as powerful color settings meet and communicate with each other. The color formations develop their own dynamics during the creative process. They seek connections in multiple layers: they overlap, disappear, or emerge again. They condense, only to resolve again in the next moment, as if they were constantly renegotiating the picture space in motion. The pictorial elements are not only related to each other within the picture space, but also direct themselves outward. Surfaces and lines extend beyond the edge of the image, expanding the established boundary. The brushstrokes vary between softly blending transitions and energetic, dense applications of color. While some surfaces flow into each other and create harmonious connections, others come to an abrupt halt and set clear accents. A interplay emerges between control and self-dynamics, between shaping and its dissolution. The painting of Daniela Schulz reflects the relationship between color and form as something organic, constantly changing, and transcending itself.

Daniela Schulz studied Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts with Prof. Winfried Virnich in Mainz; she lives and works in Eltville.

Rheingau Geflüster - Hochheim am Main route

easy

Rheingau Geflüster combines a city walk with audio contributions, texts, images, and films that can be easily scanned, played, and collected with a smartphone. The whole thing is a great route that can be started in any order and experienced at your own pace. The short walk through the historic old town of Hochheim passes the parish church of St. Peter and Paul and the Grager Villa. Here, scan the QR code and you will learn the secret of the ceiling paintings. From the church, it leads into the vineyard landscape with views of the vines and the Main River. On the outskirts of town, the white silhouette of the Grager Villa, formerly the production site of the Carl Graeger sparkling wine house, is visible. Here you will find another exciting story: Hochheim, a CIA headquarters? What were the secret connections of Stefan Haller, the US intelligence service, and the elegant Grager Villa, where whiskey and sparkling wine flowed so abundantly? Scan the QR code and start the video. At the city winery of Hochheim, the path leads back into the old town and via Aichgasse and Rathausstraße back to the starting point.
