For the 2nd premiere reading, the Eltville Wine Writing event will take place on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 4 o'clock p.m. in the Eltville Media Library. With the new book, a literary journey continues that began last year for the anniversary of the media library. “Everything on the River” is the title of the second volume, which focuses even more on the connecting element in Eltville and the Rheingau - the Rhine. It has determined the lives of people for centuries, brings movement and change, encounters and trade, stories and images. It separates and connects at the same time. It shapes the landscape as well as the thoughts and life worlds of those who live along its banks.

Wine has not only been a drink in Eltville. It is a commodity and a reason for conversation, a way of life and festival culture, a craft art as well as a mirror of an entire region. Where wine matures, stories arise: about hard work and good or less good harvests, about sociable evenings and quiet moments, about home and solidarity. At this premiere reading, the editor of the volume, author Regina Schleheck from Leverkusen, Eltville author Patrick Kunkel, and author Christiane Nitsche from Gronau in the Münsterland will read. The event will be moderated by project manager Ulrich Bachmann. Cultural office director Barbara Lilje will give a greeting on behalf of Mayor Patrick Kunkel, who will be appearing as an author that evening.
