Johanniskirche Ruine

Today, St. John's Church is only a ruin. It was once the Catholic parish church of Niederwalluf. The surviving ruins of the church were built in 1508 to replace a previous building erected in the Middle Ages. During the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648), the church was destroyed and subsequently used as a stable and barn. With the help of donations, the building was restored after the end of the war. Its north wall still contains traces of previous buildings from the 10th and 12th centuries. Following renovation work in the 1970s and in 2001, the site is now used for cultural events.
