Everyone likes luck. On the Wisper Trail near Lorchhausen, you can find it. Inner reflection, magnificent views, primeval forest, great panorama – the list of superlatives is long.
But the little luck on the great river takes effort. On the way, there are several steep climbs – first to the Clemenskapelle. From here, one wonderful view follows another in the vineyards – up to the rest area at the Nollig ruins.
After a short break, you climb up to the "Rhein-Wisper-Blick" pavilion with views into the Wisper valley and over the Wispertaunus forests. After another magnificent viewpoint, the trail leads down through the Peterwald into the Retzbachtal.
From there, old vineyard walls bear witness to the intensive cultivation of the steep slopes in earlier times. The high plateau on the Engweger Kopf impresses with a unique panoramic view.
From now on, it goes downhill through an oak avenue to the Alfred-Lehnhardt view. Like in a painting, the Pfalzgrafenstein castle lies in front of you, pure Rhine romance!
In the following forest section, you can repeatedly catch glimpses of the Rhine through individual sight corridors before you reach the open vineyard landscape again and completely immerse yourself in the sublime Rhine panorama with its unique castles.
At the nearby seating area, you have another beautiful view of the Clemenskapelle before a narrow path leads down through former vineyard terrain back to the starting point. You can hardly expect more hiking luck!
