The start is at the station in Lorch. From here the path leads via the Obergasse past the cemetery to the "Stickelbank". Enjoy the wonderful view over the Rhine, the sun-kissed vineyards, and the old town streets of Lorch. It is said that many have encountered the Lorcher Muhkalb here. The scan reveals more about this fabulous legend. Lucky is the one who has always been good here and had no evil intentions...
Around the cemetery you reach the town center again via the Römerberg and the Catholic St. Martin parish church. Since the 13th century, it has been a center of encounter: here heavenly gates open for all fans of sacred art and worldly secrets: a scan that draws highly interesting registers. Stroll across the idyllic churchyard down to the historic Hilchenhaus. The scan tells a little story of the robber knight Hilchen, the imperial ban, his exile, and his return home.
Further on. Cross the Wisper and hike up the Weiselberg. The path arcs to the "Most Beautiful Wine View of Lorch". Above it towers the Nollig, once a watchtower. Listen to what the Nollig wants to show you, at the top of the Wachtenberg, with a wide view into the Rhine valley and over the Löffelinsel. This is how the story of a fortification tower looks.
Now a little bit of hiking is on the agenda, a beautiful one: Always keeping an eye on the Rhine and the vines, new views open behind every bend. After the Clemenskappelle it goes down the Kalvarienberg into the valley. Once more uphill and you reach the wonderful viewpoint at the Rose Pavilion. From here you overlook the entire area of the former Free State Flaschenhals. What this is about is revealed by the next scan: Take a time jump to 1919 with Mayor Pnieschek.
Follow the Rheinsteig until a side path, the Rheinsteig access path, leads down to Lochhausen. From here you can take the train back to Lorch or walk 3 km back along the street by the vineyards.
