The cultural landscape through which the premium hiking trail Rheinsteig® runs between Bonn, Koblenz and Wiesbaden is breathtakingly beautiful. Versatile and breathtaking, the 320 km long Top Trail winds mostly on narrow and demanding paths over heights and through cozy side valleys. The Rheinsteig® offers a colorful mix of adventure and contemplation.

In the north, the Rheinsteig® starts in Bonn at the marketplace in front of the old town hall. After crossing the Rhine, it winds through the Siebengebirge, Germany's oldest nature reserve. Drachenfels and Petersberg are world-famous.

On varied paths, the Rheinsteig® meets the Rhine in the Lower Middle Rhine Valley and often follows it along the valley slope. Here, the variety of charming towns, vineyards, beech forests, and quiet valleys is especially high. Time and again, the hilltops offer spectacular views of the lively Rhine Valley and the majestic calm of the eastern neighboring mountain landscapes of Taunus and Westerwald.

In Koblenz, the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley begins, which along its route to Rüdesheim am Rhein features the highest density of castles in Europe. There are 40 in total, with some fully preserved, others partially or even completely restored. From the Loreley rock, you can still watch the ships today. Climbing spots and dreamlike views characterize the profile of this area.

In the Rheingau, the hiker is greeted by gently rolling hills and vineyard landscapes. Many castles and monasteries can be visited and await you with world-famous wines. Here, hikers can enjoy multiple times: during the day in inns and wine taverns, in the evening in restaurants and hiker-friendly accommodations. In Wiesbaden, the Rheinsteig® ends at Biebrich Castle, located directly on the Rhine.
