Riesling Loop Hallgart Sun Round

Right at the beginning, the path passes the "Revoluzzer Garden House." Not far from the small garden hut, the "Hallgart Circle" met on the Itzstein estate and prepared the first national assembly of 1848. In a small wooded area amid the vineyards lies the Jewish cemetery of Oestrich-Winkel, the oldest still preserved in the Rheingau. The path climbs up to the wooded Susberg, a small hill below the Hallgart Zange. Benches above the Hendelberg summit invite you to picnic with an overwhelming view. The "Schröter Madonna" in the small church is the pride of the Hallgart community. The Gothic Madonna made of fired clay dates from around 1417. The Hallgart wine carriers, who had to carry the barrels from the cellars to the wagons, chose her as their patron saint.
