From the sea of vines to the towpath along the Rhine
Starting from Drobollacher Platz, the Riesling route quickly leaves behind the houses of Oberwalluf. A first wonderful resting place is at the Sonnenberghäuschen. The view stretches over to Eltville with the Electoral castle and the stately church tower of St. Peter and Paul. Swans and storks often gather in the fields around Steinheimer Hof. On this Riesling route, you come very close to the Rhine at the towpath. In former times, ships were laboriously pulled upstream by people or horses on these towpaths. Today, the paths directly alongside the waterways are idyllic trails. Fish herons and wild geese hide in places. In Niederwalluf, the Walluf stream flows into the Rhine. The small park around the wine barrel with views of the sailing harbor invites you to rest and linger. Along the Walluf and through Mühlstraße, the path leads back to Oberwalluf.
