In the view of the stele, it follows the meadow valley down to Eltville, where the Kiedrich stream flows into the Rhine. In Kiedrich, the stream leaves the Taunus, widens the valley floor, and the landscape opens up. The Gräfenberg, as an outcrop of the Taunus, gradually flattens and transitions into the Mainz Basin. In the Sandgrub, sand from the Tertiary Sea forms the substrate.
