On the 100th birthday of the legendary chansonnier Charles Aznavour, Stephan Hippe, in collaboration with the Hamburg Chamber Opera, has created an impressive musical portrait of the golden era of chanson. This tribute combines Aznavour's most beautiful chansons with quirky stories, original images, and film sequences. You can expect an evening full of captivating music, surprising moments, sensuality, and deep emotions. The opulently staged theatrical biography, told in German, captures the vivid testimony of an unforgettable era and its musical greats like Édith Piaf and Gilbert Bécaud. Stephan Hippe has respectfully reworked all the pieces and artfully arranged them with original audio clips, film excerpts, and lots of music.

Hippe, who was present at his 90th birthday in Berlin, received special permission to translate "Sa Jeunesse" into German. Unpublished memories from the Aznavour family make this multimedia production an extraordinary experience.
