The Upper Rheingau Wine Experience Trail leads from the parking lot at the sports and cultural hall in Massenheim (S) below the cemetery straight ahead on the asphalt path towards Wicker.
At the first fork, turn left into the vineyards, then left again uphill, at the next intersection turn right and right again through the vineyards Massenheimer Schlossgarten and Wickerer Mönchsgewann. To the left, the route goes to the outskirts of Wicker, to the right into Taunusstraße and past the wine tasting stand (1) to the exit of the town. After crossing Kirschgartenstraße, you reach the Nonnenberg vineyard, then over the street Am Steinweg to the Flörsheimer Warte (2) (a popular stop with a magnificent view).
Now it is best to follow the marking of the Regional Park Route on the gravel path diagonally right downhill into the Wickerbachaue Nature Reserve. At the first fork, turn left to the Eisenbaum with a view of the former Falkenberg limestone quarry, then right to St. Anna Chapel (3) and the stairs down to the Wiesenmühle (another stop). The Wine Experience Trail now leads right over the asphalt path into the valley of the Wickerbach, then uphill, at the T-junction on the main path to the right and in a left curve to the district Falkenberg. After crossing the main road, the path runs through Falkenbergstraße downhill, right before the railway embankment, and in two variants (Neubergweg or lower path) through the vineyards to the outskirts of Hochheim am Main.
Along the way, there is information about soils and vineyards. Below the parish church St. Peter and Paul (4), the Wine Experience Trail leads through the Domdechaney vineyard, then right uphill to the outskirts of Hochheim. Over Wiesbadener- and Burgeffstraße, Stettiner Straße, and Görlitzer Straße, the route leaves Hochheim under the highway and leads straight ahead, then left and right again through allotment gardens to the outskirts of Kostheim. Shortly before the Donnermühle, it does not go into the town but sharply right along Käbsbach, then left crossing the stream and left again through the vineyards. At the 2nd fork, keep sharply right, uphill again towards the north, and at the T-junction left to the Fähnchenskreuz (5). From here, the path runs parallel to bike path R6 into Kostheim and via Steinweg, Steinern-Kreuz-Weg, and main road to the town center. Mathilden-, Burg-, and Kilianstraße lead past St. Kilian's Church to the end of the route, the wine tasting stand on the Main riverbank in Mainz-Kostheim.
Parking lot at the sports and cultural hall Massenheim, Untergasse
Bus 46 from Wiesbaden main station to Massenheim, S-Bahn connection in Hochheim am Main, Flörsheim, and Mainz-Kostheim.
Since the path runs exclusively on paved service roads, it is also well suited for a bike ride.
