Exhibition of oil paintings by the Hunsrück painter Andreas Hey

at Taunusstrasse 55, in Wiesbaden at Claudia Zimmer „das Zimmer“

The exhibition takes place from 09.03. – 10.10.2026

Opening is on 09.03 from 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.

Andreas Hey, born 1968, lives, works, and paints in the Hunsrück and is a member of the Kunstverein Obere Nahe e.V. For over 20 years, he has primarily been creating oil paintings and occasionally objects.

The current exhibition is titled “THE OTHER SEEING” and showcases works that have predominantly been created over the past three years.

The painter wants to counter the pessimism of experience with the optimism of hope through his paintings, fostering an unshakeable confidence in a future filled with all its yearnings, desires, and plans. For in art, it is possible to approach not only the perhaps appealing and beautiful but also the sad, and maybe even the uncanny with a certain distance.

From the abstract comes the concrete, from surface comes space, from distance comes closeness, and with a little magic, one may not only look at the paintings but also a little at oneself. It places the images in relation to oneself, offering a different perspective, different heights or depths… And thus, the theme of the exhibition “THE OTHER SEEING” is also understood as a seeing and contemplating of the images, primarily with the heart.

All paintings have one thing in common: they stand for hope and confidence – important not only in these times.
