Start the route at the harbor park in Rüdesheim near the Rhine beach. After the first station, the ruins of the Hindenburg Bridge, the path leads directly along the Rhine shore. In Geisenheim, you can make a detour to Lindenplatz (Audio Linden).
By the Rhine shore in Eltville, you should definitely take a break and leave the bikes standing for a while. Best at the wine tasting booth. From here, you can stroll through the Electoral Castle with its rose garden. Refreshed, you continue up to the Sonnenberghäuschen and on to Kiedrich. Here, you need to pedal hard, and your bike will be somewhat challenged by the path conditions on the way to Kiedrich.
From Scharfenstein Castle, you can enjoy a magnificent view over the Rheingau. The path then continues through vineyards past the MUST-SEEs Eberbach Abbey, Vollrads Castle, and Johannisberg Castle, where the bat Fine, kestrel Falco, and grape courier Karl tell stories from the Rheingau.
It becomes truly idyllic in the Blaubach valley after Nothgottes before the shady path leads back into the vineyards. The sisters of St. Hildegard Abbey have chosen a wonderful spot here. The view extends far into the Middle Rhine Valley and to Rheinhessen on the opposite Rhine bank. Finally, the route goes once more through the vineyards, over which the cable car gondolas glide, and then down to Rüdesheim.
